About AsiaFlux
AsiaFlux is a regional research network that brings together scientists from universities and institutions in Asia to study exchanges of carbon dioxide, methane and other trace gases, water vapor, and energy between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere.
Through long-term observations, data sharing, workshops, training courses, and international collaboration, AsiaFlux contributes to advancing ecosystem science and supporting sustainable societies in Asia and beyond.
Mission
To bring Asia's key ecosystems under observation and to develop scientific knowledge that supports the quality and sustainability of life on earth.
Purpose
- To develop collaborative research and datasets on the cycles of carbon, water, and energy in key ecosystems in Asia.
- To organize workshops and training courses on ecosystem science, flux observations, and related global change themes.
- To cultivate the next generation of scientists and leaders with the skills and perspectives needed to address climate change and sustainability challenges in Asia.
Vision
AsiaFlux serves as a learning frontier in ecosystem science, service, and stewardship in Asia, where cross-disciplinary, contextualized, and culturally diverse knowledge is produced and practiced to support sustainability.
Governance
AsiaFlux is organized through the Advisory Committee, the Scientific Steering Committee, and core Workgroups. The AsiaFlux Bylaw defines the mission and vision, organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, terms and qualifications, resignation procedures, and amendment procedures of AsiaFlux.
